Frequently Asked Questions

Age Cutoff - Players must be 4 years old by March 1st to participate in the Spring season (Sept. 1 for the Fall season).

Practice dates/times Practices will be determined by the coaches, but generally after 5:30 on weeknights and Saturday afternoons.

Rosters - Will be posted as soon as they are available. Most seasons we are waiting on a few volunteers to step up as coaches before the teams can be formed.

Equipment - Jersey shirts will be provided for the players. All players are required to wear shin guards. Cleats are not required, but are beneficial for the slippery Spring conditions. If you purchase cleats for your player, please make sure they are for soccer. Baseball and softball cleats (with a cleat on the toe) will not be allowed. Absolutely NO JEWELRY will be worn during games. This will include earrings. If your player has earrings that cannot be removed due to recent piercings, they cannot play.

Game schedules - Will be posted as soon as they are available. Weeknight games are after 5:15. Saturday games are generally before noon. If you have scheduling concerns, we suggest that you volunteer to coach. Coaches are given scheduling priority, and are accommodated as much as possible.

Residency Requirements - We have no residency requirements for our regular rec programs. Junior high players who participate in the Simss league (the varsity teams) must live in Carterville or Herrin.

Please refer to the “Coaches Information” page for more details about league play and some of our other policies. If you have other questions, please use the “Contact Us” page.

Will players be required to wear masks? While playing, participants will not be required to wear masks. While on the bench, mask wearing will be encouraged.

What protocols will be followed for COVID exposure, symptoms, or positive test? Any player who has been exposed will be asked to sit out for a week (7 days). Any player showing any signs of illness should not participate in practices or games. Any player who tests positive will need to sit out for a week. If the player exposed the team, that team will be required to sit out a week.

Will there be refunds if the season is shortened due to COVID? If we are able to get in 50% of the scheduled games, there will be no refunds. If for some reason we have to end the season early and haven't played half the games, half of the registration fees will be refunded.

Family Discount - Partial refunds will be issued for families with three or more children playing. The refund is $15 per player and must be noted during registration in the comments section. There will be no discount for Junior High players.
